eBike vs traditional bike comparison

I'm new to this forum and looking to upgrade my ride soon, so I wanted to kick off a discussion. For those of you who've made the switch or even own both, what are your thoughts on eBikes vs. traditional bikes, especially from a "value for money" or "practicality" perspective? I'm currently eyeing a new commuter bike for my 10-mile, slightly hilly round trip to work, and I'm torn between a mid-drive eBike and a really nice traditional road bike. Is the extra cost of an eBike truly justified for daily commuting, or am I better off just getting fitter on a traditional bike? Would love to hear your experiences!

Welcome to the forum! That's a great question, and one many of us have wrestled with. For your 10-mile, slightly hilly commute, I'd lean heavily towards the mid-drive eBike for practicality, especially if you want to arrive fresh and not drenched in sweat. The "value for money" really shines when you consider how much more often you'll want to ride it, even on days you might otherwise skip the traditional bike due to fatigue or weather. Plus, you can still get a great workout by adjusting the assist level!
