Common eBike problems and solutions

Hey everyone!

Been riding my RadRover 6 Plus for about six months now, mostly commuting on paved roads but also hitting some light trails on weekends, probably put about 800 miles on it so far. Overall, I love it, but I've had a few minor niggles like brake squeal and a slightly loose battery connection occasionally. What are some of the most common issues you Rad Power Bike owners have encountered, and more importantly, what clever solutions or DIY fixes have you found? Curious to hear if there are any widespread quirks I should be aware of!

Hey there! Great to hear you're enjoying your RadRover 6 Plus, 800 miles in six months is awesome!

Your brake squeal is super common, especially on Rads – a good cleaning of the rotors with isopropyl alcohol and sanding the pads lightly often helps, or even upgrading to better pads. For the loose battery connection, sometimes bending the positive/negative terminals on the battery itself very slightly outwards can improve contact, but always be gentle! I've also heard of folks adding a thin layer of electrical tape to the battery's sides for a snugger fit in the tray. Keep on riding!
